A Tiny Lesson on the French Revolution
We have to fight for our democracy - but I don't think we should repeat 1789
To new subscribers - hello! I’m so glad you are here. This is my first video post. I’m seeing more than a few references on social media to the French Revolution. Things like “They want 1939 Germany, let’s give them 1789 France!” I certainly understand the sentiment — it’s pointing to American rage as American leaders sacrifice democracy for the benefit of techno-kings.
But I think we should be looking at models other than the French Revolution to protect our democracy. Check out the video below to hear why. And please feel free to leave a comment below.
March is Women’s History Month. It’s turning out to be a radical thing to do women’s history — and Black history, and AAPI history, and so many other histories, and frankly, any history at all that actually honors the truth. So I hope you’ll pay attention to women’s history either in small or big ways this month.
Unfortunately I think we are covering the revolution and the reign of terror simultaneously :/
this is awesome! love the content & perspective here.
